“I just have so much guilt and shame” Nadeshot opens up on 100T Layoffs and how it affected him

100 Thieves Owner and ex-Call of Duty pro player, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, opened up about the layoffs his company had to make recently, how it made him feel, and what it meant for the future of 100Thieves.

With the initial backings of huge names like Dan Gilbert, Drake, and Scooter Braun, 100Thieves started off on a positive note when they raised well over $25 Million which helped them turn into a full fledged eSports Organization with multiple rosters.

With other factors coming into play such as content creation and apparel sales which 100Thieves was doing a lot of, people even started calling them a “Hoodie Org” at one point stating that Nadeshot was only focusing on the apparel drops and not on the performance of his teams.

With allegations like those, Nadeshot has always had to come forward and clear things out a lot. Similarly, now when the United States faces a situation where they could potentially have a recession, 100Thieves is a company that doesn’t remain unaffected by the situation.

Recently, Nadeshot revealed on a podcast that the Thieves had to make another set of layoffs “Their career has ended at 100Thieves because of the decisions we’ve made” he said as he talked about the people that were laid off.

Partnerships fall through, and all of a sudden, our projections for what 2024 is gonna look like,…we gotta get a grasp on this ASAP” said Haag as he talked about the reasons that he had to face the situation of laying off his employees once more within the past year and a half.

He very aptly added, “You have a duty to your investors, your board, your employees, the creators, the teams, the brands that you are currently still working with” while justifying his decision for the same.

In the end, Nadeshot also talked about how having to make such tough decisions that affect so many people was his least favourite part of the job. “The decisions that I make everyday, impact a f**king lot of people“.
