“F*** em, they can agree to disagree,” Nickmercs reveals he will not play the upcoming Call Of Duty MW 3 amid the Pride month controversy
Nickmercs still feels ill-will towards Activision after past controversy!
Call of Duty seems to have lost a loyal soldier. Not within the game, however, but rather outside. In a recent Twitch livestream, Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff revealed to his viewers his stance on the release of the new Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 3, after his fallout with the game’s developer, Activision. Nick is one of the biggest Call of Duty streamers and is quite a popular figure in the COD community. Due to this massive fanbase, Activision even introduced his Operator skin to the game.
However, some unfortunate turn of events began back in June, the month which is known for celebrating Pride culture, also known as Pride Month. NICKMERCS felt the need to share to the world his thoughts on the rainbow-coloured month. However, the comments made attracted controversy, and thus, his Call of Duty skin bundle was removed from the in-game store on June 9th.
Nickmercs in fact had caught attention from around the globe, as he publicized an anti-LGBTQIA+ protest which saw assault take place. This had pushed Activision to take action. Along with him, TimTheTatman was also affected after he came to the aid of his friend. His skin bundle followed through and got removed after Nickmercs.
Nickmercs is distancing himself from Call Of Duty: Moder Warfare 3
Nickmercs had recently shared his thoughts following the release of Call of Duty’s latest game, Modern Warfare 3. He revealed how he most likely won’t be playing the game after Activision had bailed out on him. The tweet that got him in trouble to be specific was, “They should leave little children alone. That’s the real issue”.
However, in regards to MW3, he revealed, “I’m okay with that, bro. Look – if Call of Duty, if they don’t want to associate themselves with me because that’s how I feel then so what, f*ck em, they can agree to disagree”. He was then asked by a fan the inevitable question that everyone wonders, will Nickmercs play MW3?
Nickmercs replied and explained, “I mean probably not. I might, but probably not. Part of it is hard because if you’re me, like a lot of you guys, I grew up playing CoD. So obviously I have a lot of friends who still play CoD…”. It clearly is a tough decision, for both the fans and Nickmercs himself, given his historical relationship with Call of Duty.
