Players are pleading for a Cypher revamp that includes beta powers
Valorant has been out for almost two years, and since then, Riot Games has fine-tuned everything from its agents to the level layouts. Cypher players, on the other hand, believe the character has been virtually forgotten as the game has grown.
People urge Riot Games to find a way to empower Cypher in Episode 4 Act 2, which is dedicated to introducing swaths of game balances across Valorant’s agents and systems.
Except for the horrible Spycam pistol issue, Riot might already have the solution to a great overhaul concept for him hidden in the beta version of the character.
With his Trapwires, Cyber Cage, and Spycam, Cypher can keep an eye on a broad section of the map as a Sentinel. It’s a useful set of tools, but players believe he lags behind other Agents in his class.

Cypher update in Valorant
The notion of bringing back his beta abilities in the present age of Valorant was well received by Redditor ‘CheeseCakeYee,’ who received a lot of support from other members of the community.
“Cypher was considerably better in the beta,” they remarked. “And if we had that Cypher today, he could be so much better while still not being overly OP,” says the narrator.
Cypher’s powers used to have a few more affects, such as his Cyber Cage, which slowed anyone who entered it. Even after dying, he was able to hold flanks with his Trapwires. Even those, though, have been nerfed and are no longer active once he exits the round.
Not to mention the Neural Theft ultimate, which may benefit from some QoL tweaks to make it more useful in Valorant.
