Tencent’s globally famous battle-royale game PUBG Mobile has once again come under the radar of the government and news channels as a teenager boy hailing from Lucknow has shot his mother for not letting him play the game. The incident has sent shockwaves across the entire nation and called for the urgency to ban such addictive games.

PUBG Mobile is one of the few games in India that procured massive revenue on it is initial days of release and has still remained a popular game all over the country specially among teenagers. Even though the game is banned now, some teenagers still engage in this game and even commit shocking crimes.

One of those instances came forward today as it was informed through numerous news channels that a 16-year-old boy from Lucknow shot his mother with a pistol kept by his father at their home, as she wasn’t allowing him to play PUBG Mobile.

According to reports, the boy also threatened to kill his younger sister given if she informs anyone about the incident and locked her in a room for a couple of days before the police was called by the neighbors. The boy is currently in police custody and preliminary reports suggested that he used to quarrel with his mother and repeatedly ask for money to spend in PUBG Mobile.

This incident has again left a bad impression on the game as activists as well as other parents are demanding the ban of such addictive games like BGMI or Free Fire, the most popular ones in the country.

It is important to note that both of these games have already been banned by the Indian government but players are still having access to these types of games due to the arrival of battle-royale alternatives.
