19th Asian Games

PUBG Mobile was the only game selected from the battle-royale category that will be taking part at the 19th Asian Games which is going to be held in Hangzhou, China. For the first time, Esports is going to be held as a medal event at the Asian Games with 8 titles on different categories.

The participation of Indian teams in PUBG Mobile at 19th Asian Games was on a cliffhanger as the popular battle-royale title had been banned in the country in the wake of India-China border conflict that took place on September 2020. However, Indian players were delighted to know when Krafton made an announcement that Indian teams will be able to take part.

It has now been informed by New Indian Express, that MeitY will decide whether Indian teams can take part at the Asian Games in the category of PUBG Mobile and Arena of Valor. The latter title was also banned in the country for privacy reasons and their participation also hangs loosely.

PUBG Mobile’s lookalike Battlegrounds Mobile India and Arena of Valor’s lookalike Clash of Titans had been launched in the country, even though the government has not announced any plans on banning the games, the participation of Indian teams at Asian Games that is going to take place from September 10, 2022 for these two titles remain uncertain.
