Riot Games reveals the new upcoming Lotus map changes with Episode 8 in Valorant

Riot Games is highly efficient when it comes to updating Valorant with constant new changes, fresh updates and regular patches. They regularly update their maps, whether it is to fix certain gameplay issues or simply re-texturing to make the map more pleasant. With Valorant Episode 8 coming out, Riot are tweaking the Lotus Map.

Valorant Episode 8 Act 1 comes out in a week. Riot Games has announced all changes that will be seen in the India-based Lotus Map. The changes will drop alongside patch 8.0 on January 8th, 2024. With plant sites undergoing several changes, this may change your approach and strategy to the map.

Big changes are coming to the A link location on Valorant. The interior and exterior are getting a complete makeover. Exterior A Link now has new boxes that can be used as cover. The cubby-like area is now square rather than angled. Interior A Link towards B Site has been widened. This has led to an expansion of the wall that once touched the door

A and B Site Changes

Lotus is a three-site map. These changes have been implemented to maintain balance and ensure all sites are just as viable for the attack. The A-site hut is now a solid and closed structure. They’ve given it a U-shape cubby near the back of the site for players to take cover in. The entry point to the B site from the attacking site has been narrowed. A new corner has been added. The jump-up boxes have been pushed back along an expanded wall.

C Site and C Bend

Major changes have also been made to the third site. This location is notoriously chaotic during gameplay. Riot aims to curb some of the pandemonium in order to ensure balance. Firstly, the C-Site itself has moved slightly. The corner near the defender location is now no longer a valid Spike planting location.

Thus, you can no longer hide there for your sneaky plants. The C-bend on the Lotus Map has also been widened. A new corner by the entryway of the attacker side, additional boxes for cover by the stairs, and an extended ramp for planting the Spike with a new set of stairs leading up to it have all been added to the map.
