Living on an island is made more fun by a variety of tools, and the rope gun makes it possible to use any Sons of the Forest zipline. The route to the rope gun location is not for everyone, though, and entering it recklessly could result in your demise.

There are many caves in Sons of the Forest to discover, but to completely explore them all, you’ll need the rope gun (also called the zipline gun). If you wish to locate the shovel, which enables you to obtain the keycards in Sons of the Forest, the rope gun is also necessary. You will want assistance if you wish to find the rope gun because it is a mission within itself.

How to get the Rope Gun in Sons of the Forest

You must go to the cave shown on the map below if you want to get the rope gun. It is the one with the helicopter icon to the side, where the player arrow is located. Although this cave is one of the probable spawn locations for Sons of the Forest, if you’re lucky, here might be exactly where you begin. There are many mutants inside that you’ll need to kill, so make sure you have a powerful weapon before you enter, such as the stun baton or a handgun.

As you move forward through the cave’s gloomy interior in Sons of the Forest, follow the stream downward. Turn left when you reach a vast chamber and proceed along with some water until you reach some corpses.

There are some time bombs close by on the ground. You’ll see a huge mutant locked in a wall gap close to the time bombs. Once the mutant has been eliminated with the time bomb, squeeze through the opening to proceed through the cave.

The way ahead is quite long, but keep moving forward through the room packed with corpses that are hanging from the ceiling. From here, things proceed rather steadily in the game, but you’ll need to put up some resistance.

You should ultimately encounter a steep slope climbing up at the far end of the cavern. The path becomes congested at this point, but keep going up until you locate a passageway going left.

Crouch to pass through the area where the ceiling lowers after taking this side tunnel into the darkness up ahead. Turn right as you reach the following chamber and stick to the wall until you see some light sources in the distance.

Until you come across a briefcase with a rope gun on the floor, follow the light sources. The Rope Gun soon earned the nickname Zipline Gun since it permits the usage of ziplines in specific areas.
