“Absolutely awesome!” Swordmaster David Rawling reacts to the Lightsaber action in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Here is a take on lightsabers in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor from Sword Master David Rawling.
Star Wars depict an intergalactic world where things are not only limited to a planet. But a realm of them is interconnected into the vastness of the universe. Star Wars was among the first series to ever take things beyond the general perception of people by adding new technologies and visual appeal to the games. With no limitations whatsoever to hold them back Star Wars flaunts a series of amazing and intriguing technologies. And this is what keeps fans glued to the franchise.
With spaceships, laser guns, and spectral 3D maps, and holograms. Tweaking new technologies and weapons gave rise to some real-life inspiration for the same. One of all the fascination with Lightsaber swords is well known. Fans of all ages all alike unite under one roof for their love and enthusiasm for light sabers in the Star Wars series.
And without a doubt Star Wars Jedi: Survivor features enough enormous fights with the lighting swords. But how would things look from the perspective of an actual swordsman? Let’s take a look at what Sword Master David Rawling has to say about the same.
David Rawling reacts to lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Rawling is known for his Swordsmanship and knowledge about sword fights. He has an extensive experience of about 25 years. And owns the London Swords Academy. Rawling has been training professional swordsmen for more than 2 decades now. David Rawling is a Star Wars fan and a genre nerd. In his statement, Rawling said, “The Lightsabers work according to sword fights and have leniency with the flow of slashes and movement of the Jedi himself.”
Rawling quoted, “The sabers have a defensive move where the strikes are longer than usual contact duration which gives the swordsman time to figure out the next move and strategy.” He expressed his thoughts about fighting with Lightsaber against the enemy with a shield. Which would rather put the Jedi at the disadvantage of being close to danger.
With that said Rawling advised, “Go after the legs of the shield of the enemy and attack on the exposed body parts when trying to cover either legs or head.” Rawling has a rather amusing response when asked about his take on the fighting skills that one needs to keep in mind while using Lightsabers. Where he said, “Gaining enough distance between the sword and enemy is very important when it comes to engaging. With few exceptions, if players can cut through defenses from behind, it would put them at a great advantage in putting odds in their favor.”
In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, players can merge two Lightsabers to make it one like a pole with two ends being the attack weapon. While it increases the intensity and damage radius of the attack. It is a drawback when engaging enemies in the closed quarter area or small spaces. “It amuses me that it seems clear to me that somebody has been watching videos of historical swordplay, which is lovely i think and there will be people who really really want to crack into it,” said David in his final verdict for the game.
