The Streamer Awards recently took place at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, California. This was the third edition of the awards after being founded in 2022 by QTCinderella.

The ceremony was broadcast live on the founder’s streaming channel, and many new winners were crowned, including Tarik, the new FPS Streamer of the Year.

The Streamer Awards are an annual show recognising achievements and awards in the live-streaming industry. The 2024 awards featured over 30 categories. One of the most hyped awards among these was the FPS Streamer of the Year Award. 

The Streamer Awards are decided using a weighted combination of votes. The popular vote by fans is given 70% weight, whereas the panellists’ vote is given 30%. The nominees announced for the FPS Streamer of the Year award were: 

  • shroud
  • TenZ
  • SuperTF
  • Tarik

Tarik beats out Shroud and TenZ for the FPS Streamer of the Year Award

Tarik was announced as a surprising winner for the FPS Streamer of the Year Award, over fan favourites such as Shroud and TenZ.

The streamer got onstage to deliver his speech and thanked the fans, his friends and family, and the community for the honour.

Additionally, Tarik also thanked Riot Games for creating the “greatest game in the world.” After thanking QTCinderella for hosting the show, Tarik immediately goes back on what he said. He raised his award in the air and screamed, “I’m just kidding, Counter-Strike for life.”

As expected, fans were ecstatic to see Tarik take home the victory as the underdog and shout out Counter-Strike on the big stage. They were also highly amused by the dig he took at Riot Games. Overall, the Streamer Awards were a great night for the community and highly enjoyed by fans.
