How TikTok Is using MrBeast’s name to sell burgers!

TikTok, the short video content platform announced its foray into the food and beverage business, teaming up with Virtual Dining Concepts and launching delivery-only TikTok Kitchen locations across the US.

Virtual Dining Concepts runs several successfully backed celebrity and non-celebrity restaurants with the most popular one being Mr Beast Burger that has been a hit since it was first rolled out last fall by the namesake YouTuber. He managed to sell over a million burgers in three months and now there are over 1,500 locations in the US, Canada and the UK that sell the Mr Beast burger.

TikTok is planning around 300 similar-themed restaurants with over 1,000 expected by the time 2022 ends. The menu will sell new food trends that have become popular over the app – like feta pasta (which became the most-searched dish in 2021 according to Google) or Pasta chips (essentially cooked pasta shapes coated with cheese and air fried), smash burgers and corn ribs among others.

However, the menu won’t be the same forever. It will shift quarterly and there is no tentative timeline if a dish will be placed on the menu for a longer run. Pricing for these food items would be similar to other Virtual Dining Concept Brands.

To put things in perspective, the aforementioned Mr Beast burger starts at a price of $6.99. TikTok promises to use the profits from the restaurants to support viral food content creators and help promote culinary talents on the platform.

Also, it’ll be interesting to see how TikTok will denote the starter of a particular trend since at times several people post about the dishes. However, the concept surely seems paradigm-shifting, to say the least. Do you think you’d enjoy something like this, let us know in comments.
