Prime Drink cans are promoted as being vegan and sugar-free. The PRIME bottle also contains 200 milligrams of caffeine, which is comparable to roughly two Red Bulls or half a dozen Coke cans, according to the AP. This has prompted bans from some schools in the UK and Australia due to the high amounts of caffeine in the drinks which are quite harmful to kids.

Although there is no set recommendation for a child’s caffeine intake, 200 mg is a significant amount and can lead to mental health problems like anxiety and depression as well as linked physical health problems. Due to this, United States Senator, Charles Schumer showed his concerns. Chuck Schumer said

“Kids see it on their phones as they scroll, and then they need it. “One of the summer’s hottest status symbols for kids is not an outfit or a toy; it’s a beverage.”

Mr. Schumer strongly feels that the advertising is very generic causing many parents to purchase the highly caffeinated drinks for their children unknowingly.

Nevertheless, the business has stated that the drinks are not intended for children under the age of 18. Schumer observes that this is not the main emphasis of the advertising campaign. The business has also introduced Prime Hydration, a different beverage without caffeine. Schumer adds that the lack of a distinct difference in the promotion of the two leads parents to choose the energy drink with the higher caffeine concentration.

Fans give their take on Senator’s demand to probe Prime energy drink

Numerous people have expressed conflicting opinions on this cause. Some claim that the market is heavily deceptive, while others claim that the amount of caffeine added is typical for any energy drink.

One can see that the concerns put forward by the Senator are understandable. To tackle this issue, Prime’s marketing team can surely make the packaging for their drink with caffeine a bit different from that which has no caffeine whatsoever.
