Former N1 Valorant Pro Thwifo to join NRG as 6th man

NRG Esports
NRG has gone all out with their VCT signing this year, signing the Initiator Main Zander “thwifo” Kim from T1, after thwifo decided to make himself a free agent this year. This decision by thwifo was facked by the fact that his parent team failed to secure a slot at the VCT Americana League and instead chose to Shift into the VCT Pacific League.
The addition of thwifo will finally complete the entire roster requirements for the NRG participating in next year’s VCT. The team has gone ahead and obtained a strong core from popular gaming outfits, making them unlikely contenders for the trophy this season.

According to the present VCT rulebook, there was only one slot for an athlete in a partnered organization from different regions to be registered, which also led to Steel choosing to become a free agent and search for offers elsewhere within the VCT Americans League. While NRG are yet to formally introduce him into their roster or even release their roster, the team appears mighty impressive and this time around has a fine blend of talent with experience.

With the addition of Thwifo, the roster appears something like:
- Pujan “FNS” Mehta (OpTic)
- Victor “Victor” Wong (OpTic)
- Austin “crashies” Roberts (OpTic)
- Ardis “Ardiis” Svarenieks (FPX)
- Sam “s0m” Oh (NRG)
- Zander “thwifo” Kim (T1)
On paper, this appears to be a team that can take on some of the strongest and still come out all guns blazing in the tournament. Add to it the fact that FNS this time around has a point to prove, and NRG fans have quite the stronghold in their roster.
Thwifo is known to be extremely versatile, and although he usually plays the Queen initiator Fade or the machine KAY/O, he is known to have blended into roles of Cypher, Viper, and even Killjoy as the team required. For that purpose, adding him as a sixth man to fill in several roles will greatly help NRG’s chances this season.
VCT 2023 is appearing to turn out quite competitive this season. It will now depend upon Thwifo and his teammates to leave their mark on the competitive scene with their new team.
