Riot Games perfectly complements Valorant’s stellar gameplay with beautiful aesthetics and cosmetic items. The developers have released some gorgeous skin bundles in the past. With Valorant Episode 8 Act 1 closing near, the developers have officially announced the next bundle, titled the Valorant Kuronami Skin Bundle.

The main focus of the bundle revolves around the new melee weapon coming to the game titled Kuronami no Yaiba. The melee weapon sports a Japanese kusarigama-style finish along with a thunderstorm finisher. The entire skin bundle beautifully blends a light blue tone to the weapons with silver and black metals.

The Kuronami skins feature a smooth floating animation for all weapons. Equipping the weapon will load a bullet into the chamber. The bullets take the form of flowing balls of cloud entering and exiting the weapon. Getting the final kill of the round with a weapon equipped with the Kuronami skin also displays a special finishing animation.

This animation is a first-of-its-kind addition to Valorant. The final bullet that kills your enemy encapsulates them in a sphere-shaped cloud. After that, a thunderstorm begins on the map. The cloud encapsulating the enemy can be shot and burst, exploding into nothing.

Release Date

The entire bundle will reportedly be officially announced and revealed in a livestream hosted by the voice actor of Jett, Shannon Williams, on January 8th. The skin bundle is supposedly set to be released alongside patch 8.0. The new patch will be released on the same day as Valorant Episode 8 Act 1, released on January 9th, 2024.

The Kuronami Yo Yaiba melee weapon follows the design of an ancient Japanese weapon known as the Kusarigama. The weapon features a unique floating equipping animation without contact from your character. The inspecting animation of the weapon resembles an infinitely-spinning propellor. The Valorant Kuronami Skin Bundle will include skins for the following weapons –

  • Vandal
  • Sheriff
  • Spectre
  • Marshal
  • Kuronami no Yaiba (Melee Weapon)

Price

There has been a ton of discourse among players regarding the bundle’s price, as it costs much more than a standard bundle. Riot Games has set the cost of the entire bundle as 9,500 VP. If you wish to purchase the skin for a single weapon, you must give up 2375 VP. Buying only the melee weapon from the store will set you back at 5350 VP.
