Valorant Masters Madrid 2024 Format
With the Kickoffs over, 8 teams have qualified for the Masters Madrid 2024! These teams would now be facing against each other and would put their skills to some fierce test. However, this time, the Masters Madrid will be following a new format that Riot Games has cooked up! Masters Madrid will start from March 14 to March 24.
Swiss Stage
“Teams winning 2 matches before losing 2 would qualify for the next stage” and that pretty much sums up the Swiss Stage. The Swiss stage would pit all the 1st placed teams in their regional Kickoffs against the 2nd placed teams in the regional Kickoffs. No teams from the same region would fight against each other, however.
To get past the Swiss stage, teams must win two games before losing two in a maximum of three rounds. Every game will consist of a Best of Three series. The winning teams in Round 1 advance, while the losing teams play elimination games. Same-region matchups will be permitted going forward, with the matches between each round being determined by two completely random draws. Following three rounds of the Swiss Stage, 4 teams would qualify for Playoff Brackets!
Playoff Brackets
A random draw will determine and pit the 4 qualifying teams against each other. The two winning teams would then fight against each other, and the winner would proceed directly to the grand finals, and the losing team would proceed to the lower finals. Moreover, the two losing teams from the first round would compete against each other for a spot in the lower finals.
The team winning in the lower finals would proceed to the Masters Madrid Grand finals, which will also have a showmatch. Both the Lower Finals & the Grand Finals will be a Best of Five series!
This new format will give fans many wild and over-the-top matches to watch. Moreover, this new format will definitely make Masters Madrid really interesting! Furthermore, fans have really high hopes for the China region, which joined the fray this year. Masters is going to kick off soon, and teams are already gearing up, and so should fans, as this event is going to be an explosive one!
