Every competitive game’s redeeming quality isn’t just its unique gameplay or mechanics but also the maps that are in the game. Furthermore, for competitive games, more maps = more fun! Riot Games’ Valorant has a huge, unique map pool that provides players with diversity in their play style. Moreover, with the start of the new act in Valorant, one of the out-of-rotation maps, Breeze, is coming with a huge revamp. And with the start of the new act, Pearl and Fracture, the two maps will also be out of the pool!
Released in 2020, Valorant can be said to be Riot Games’ huge success. Since its inception, the game has built a significant player base of its own. The game’s unique tactical shooting mechanics, along with unique agents, were a hit amongst players. Furthermore, with seasonal updates coming every new season and new agents like Deadlock and Maps, the games’ hype can never die down. Currently, there are 9 maps in Valorant, with some out of rotation right now, and the latest one being Lotus.
Moreover, one of the maps that has been out of rotation for a while, Breeze, is coming back to Valorant once again. This map will be making its way to the game with huge changes. Riot Games usually takes out maps once in a while to bring them back with changes. Furthermore, with the start of the new Act, maps like Pearl and Fracture will be out of rotation!

Breeze coming back to Valorant with huge revamps
Many new acts bring to Valorant newer agents, goodies, skins, gameplay changes, or new maps. Breeze is one of the oldest maps in Valorant and was released in April 2021 as part of Patch 2.08. Since then, this game has been one of the fan favorites. However, since the start of Episode 6 Act 1, the map had been out of the active map pool, along with Icebox. However, the map’s finally returning to the game, albeit with loads and loads of new changes.
Mid Pillar and Mid Cubby changes:
There have been many major changes to the map that may have changed the whole map whatsoever. The middle of the map has been altered to be less open, and the pillar is now attached to the outside wall. Additionally, the new connecting wall now has boxes on it, which makes it easier for attackers to climb to a higher elevation in the center lane. This gives players an edge over opponents and good peak points with no body exposure.
B-site & B-back changes:
The B-site and B-back are, once again, looking at major changes. It seems like Valorant has revamped Breeze into a more peak-focused and less body-exposure map. Stairs with cover and elevation have been added to the B-site, and the developers removed the original wall to enable players to engage in quick fights with opponents attempting to enter the site! Furthermore, there is now a total closure of the B-back, as it has only one platform for elevation and peaks.
A Hall and Mid Wood Doors changes:
Once again, Riot Games have changed the Mid portion of the map that leads into Site-A. The defenders no longer have the slight advantage of the door being not fully opened to prevent opponents in Mid from directly peaking into the site. The door now stands wide open, with a cover consisting of wooden crates placed just outside the gate.
A Shop and A Cave changes:
Riot Games has changed the whole entry to the A site, massively altering the main site entry. The original A-main entry had been warded off, with only the shop entry left for players to enter the site. Moreover, the shop entry is not wide, with many new tight corners that players must check before entering the site. This is a massive change to the A-site.
A Site changes:
The A-site hasn’t seen any changes except for a crawfish and crab sign now on the two pillars. Overall, the map changes this time have turned Breeze into a new map, different from the older version. Although the map’s still long-range, a lot of points like Mid and A Main are now more focused on clearing corners and looking out for peaks rather than engaging in long-range fights. Furthermore, this update will come to the change in Episode 7, Act 2, with Pearl and Fracture out of the active map pool.
Fans have been quite divided over these changes. This is due to Riot Games changing the entire map. However, players have seen maps that were removed from the map pool coming back with loads of changes. And now Breeze is just another one of such maps in Valorant!
