Another exciting season of the Valorant Champions Tour has arrived. Teams worldwide are fighting to qualify for the first VCT Masters event in Madrid. However, they must first compete in the challenger league in their regions, such as VCT Pacific, VCT Americas, VCT China, etc.

Due to Riot Games including four franchised leagues in 2024, each region will only get two slots in the upcoming VCT Masters in Madrid. Hence, the eleven teams in VCT Americas 2024 have been giving their all to earn a spot in Madrid.

Sentinels vs 100 Thieves was the Group B elimination match for VCT Americas 2024. These two teams have a complicated history between them, facing each other multiple times in the past. Being two of the top teams in the region, there is always something to prove when these teams go head-to-head.

100 Thieves eliminated from VCT Americas 2024, no longer eligible for VCT Masters Madrid

A rocky performance by Sentinels last year led to the team making some changes to the roster. Johnqt and Zellsis joining the team already led the team to victory in an off-season event.

Meanwhile, 100 Thieves has not shown consistency over the past few VCT seasons. The team also has added new members in the form of Boostio and Eeiu to their roster.

While 100 Thieves did earn a point in the best of 3 series against Leviatán, they eventually came up short, albeit by a small margin.

The Sentinels vs 100 Thieves matchup in VCT Americas 2024 slightly favoured TenZ’s team due to their higher consistency and more experienced players. Unlike the BLEED vs Global eSports matchup in VCT Pacific 2024, there were no upsets here.

Sentinels were able to take out 100 Thieves in a 2-1 series. They dominated on the Lotus map 13-5. Despite a 13-6 victory by 100 Thieves on Bind, Sentinels could reverse the momentum again to close the series with a 13-8 win on Split. This officially eliminates 100 Thieves in the race to VCT Masters Madrid, while Sentinels continue to work for their slot.
