After sending 100 Thieves home, Sentinels moved forward to battle the Americas region’s most dominant team, Cloud 9 in the VCT Americas LCQ. Sen vs. C9 was a highly anticipated match Despite giving a tough fight to Cloud 9, Sentinels fell short and lost the series by a 2-1 score. Duelists from both teams showcased impressive skills. However, people watching saw some surprising mishaps with the Raze’s ultimate ability, Showstopper.

Both Xeppa and Zekken had trouble using this explosive ultimate ability consistently throughout the game. Raze’s Showstopper is a really strong ability that can be used to deal huge damage to enemies and change the course of fights. But in this match, it became clear that the ultimate’s consistency was not very reliable. For an ult that costs 8 ult points and still fails to do anything, that is just unluckily awful.

On the second map, Fracture, both Xeppa, and Zekken decided to pick Raze for their team. Raze is a very strong duelist on this map and can wreak havoc all around the corner. Both duelists tried to use the Showstopper to get important kills and help their teams. Unfortunately, it seemed like they were unlucky. The Showstopper missiles kept missing the enemies they were supposed to hit, which surprised both fans and players.

Some misses were very hilarious, like when Xeppa tripped in a Cypher tripwire at A Link while using his ult, while others were straight-up unfortunate. During the 10th round on the Fracture, Zekken blasted Xeppa, Jakee, and Leaf, and no one took a single hit.  A lot of people watching the game got frustrated and complained about how Raze’s Ultimate wasn’t working well.

They said that Riot Games should fix the problem with the area where the ultimate hits, because sometimes it doesn’t do any damage even if it looks like it hits the target perfectly. The fact that there’s no clear area where the ultimate cause of damage is made the issue even worse. The missed Showstoppers had a big impact. The ultimate ability can change the game by getting important kills or taking control of an area. Popular content creator Flexinja also gave his take on this incident.

The same thing happened on the 3rd map, Split, too. It seemed like it was an unlucky day Raze main altogether. Most of the time when Xeppa poped up his ult, he couldn’t find anyone and was shooting blind. Fans just saw 2-3 Showstopper kills combined throughout the series, which definitely raised some questions on the reliability of Raze’s ult.

Cloud9 had a really important win against Sentinels in the VCT LCQ Americas match. They worked well together as a team and played standout players were Xeppaa and Leaf. Even though Sentinels played aggressively, Cloud 9 stayed strong and didn’t give up. In the end, Cloud9 won the series 2-1. Despite having a bad time with Ults, Xeppa compensated for it with his gun game and got 50 kills, becoming MVP for the match. Zekken, on the other hand, was the top fragger for Sentinels because of  his impeccable shooting too.
