Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an action-adventure game developed by Nintendo EPD and published by Nintendo for its gaming system, the Nintendo Switch, set to release on May 12, 2023. The Zelda franchise is a huge one, consisting of 27 games in the series, including the remakes. The Legend of Zelda was first released in February 1986, almost 3 decades ago, with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom being the last one to be released.

The game was highly anticipated by fans after its title was revealed during the September 2022 Nintendo Direct. The 3rd and final trailer for the game was released earlier today leaving the fans hungrily waiting for the games release in May. The game’s producer Eiji Aonuma had recently released a gameplay demonstration video following the release of the first 2 trailers of the game. The trailer boasts the massive open world players are offered with amazing landscapes and places to explore. The character designs are absolutely beautiful ingrained with miniscule details and the cutscenes seem bewildering.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released in 2017. It received the award for the Most Anticipated Game of 2022 at the Game Awards. The first teaser trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released at E3 2021. The game’s producer stated in an interview that they took inspiration from large open world games like Red Dead Redemption 2, a massive Triple A title from Rockstar Games.

The winner of the Most Anticipated Game of 2022 at the Game Award, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom belongs to one of the biggest franchises in the gaming industry with a large fanbase. The game comes under the action-adventure genre set in the world of Hyrule following the adventures of the protagonist Link and his friend Zelda as they fight the evil forces that desire to destroy the kingdom of Hyrule.

A few weeks earlier the producer of the game, Eiji Aonuma released a gameplay demonstration video. In the video, Aonuma discussed the new aspects added to Tears of the Kingdom compared to its predecessor like the addition of “sky islands” which can now be explored by players. He also discussed some of the protagonist Link’s new abilities and how they can access these “sky island”. The release of the new trailer has only lets the fans eagerly waiting for the release of the game.
