“Responsibility to set an example”: IShowSpeed releases apology after Sky Sports removes his content from their platforms
Sky Sports news has reportedly removed all of their content featuring YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed, after being informed of his controversial past. Post this decision, Speed took to Twitter to apologize about his behavior, whilst mentioning how he was still ‘a child’ and was just 17 years old when he did that, saying that he didn’t know the consequences of his actions.
Damien Watkins Jr. or IShowSpeed is definitely one of the most controversial people on the Internet. From his weird mannerisms, to his questionable behavior with other people on different social media platforms, IShowSpeed has been part of a lot of drama on social media. These issues have varied from him degrading people, especially girls on Omegle, ranting on Valorant and abusing his teammates after not playing well himself, to even showing explicit content on his YouTube channel.

Perhaps one of the biggest controversies occurred last year, when Speed was a part of Adin Ross’ live stream. Adin Ross hosted his own dating show on his channel, where he used to pair up random streamers with random influencers, who then used to go on a virtual date on a discord video call.
IShowspeed joined the show and was paired up with Instagram influencer Ash Kaash. The situation got bad when Speed asked Ash Kaash a hypothetical question, asking if they were the last two people on earth, will she have s*x with him to repopulate the planet.
Ash Kaash said no, to which an annoyed Speed replied “Who’s gonna stop me”. When Ash Kaash said “me”, he just worsened the situation by turning hostile and yelling, again and again, repeating “who’s gonna stop me” until Adin Ross had to kick him off the stream, with Twitch banning the creator from their platform.
The old controversies are still following IShowspeed
Speed is still facing the consequences of his behavior, with the most recent incident happening in the UK, where he went to Manchester and Fulham to watch his idol Cristiano Ronaldo perform. After being dejected when Ronaldo didn’t come on the pitch for either of the matches, he was approached by Sky Sports, who wanted to record his reactions.
He did meet up with Sir Geoffrey Hurst, and a few other football personalities too, but videos of him meeting with them have been removed by Sky Sports. It is still unclear whether Speed’s videos would be reinstated by Sky Sports, but currently, they remain archived.

In his apology note on twitter, Speed mentions that he is very sorry for the actions of his past, and himself addresses the incident that took place in UK. “I am 17 now, I was 16 when that happened and made a huge mistake” Speed says, revealing his age after lying about it in the first place to get on Adin Ross’ live stream.
After apologizing for his ‘stupid and immature behavior, Speed also mentions how he has tried contacting Sky Sports again to interview with him, to which they had not responded. Let’s see if this apology by the streamer makes them change their decision.
