Pokimane exposes a scammer
Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys has been busy throughout the week to create vlogs and share with her audience about how she is running from pillar to post due to her doctor appointments. But amidst this, the content creator was on the verge of falling into a trap set by a scammer who posed himself to be from a reputed company.
The 26-year-old streamer shared her ordeal on Twitter and also give a warning message, especially to small-time content creators who are more vulnerable to such scams. She posted, “I was recently almost blackmailed & wanted to share what happened to me as a precautionary tale.. I uploaded the storytime on my tiktok, highly recommend especially for smaller creators”.
“be careful what you share online”, she warned her audience and also shared the link to her TikTok video where she described the whole incident. Imane informed that this frightening situation took place a couple of weeks ago and she felt it was necessary to come out with this story so that others do not become the victims.

Pokimane almost fell for a influencer scam
Pokimane is one of he primary faces of Twitch right now and has been dominating the position as one of the top female content creators for quite a while, but her popularity has costed her many times. This time around, when she mentioned or rather gave a shoutout to a lingerie and loungewear company called ‘Neiwai’, she received a scammer asking her to do their brand’s endorsements.
She explained that as she ordered from their company, they had her e-mail, on which a person apparently posed as an ‘official’ from the company, sent her a presentation of their new collection, so that Pokimane could choose the apparel she wishes to don for the brand endorsement.
“They said that they just need my measurements, my address and they’ll send me like three custom lingerie”, however, Pokimane continued that she wasn’t able to send them right away as she wasn’t at LA. As they followed up few days later when she was home, the streamer was just going to take her measurements when she realized something was amiss.
"I realized that they weren't showing me how to take my measurements, they were asking me to put tape measure around me and send them a photo of my 'bare chest'."
The streamer explained that she was shocked to learn that this whole time she had been speaking with a scammer, she also exposed the fake email which was used to communicate with her and it was surprising to see the efforts they made to prepare the multi-page presentation to present their fake collection.
Pokimane concluded that the situation was both ‘comical’ and ‘frightening’ as she couldn’t possibly imagine the outcome of what they’d have done if she actually sent them her intimate pictures.
Fans are supportive but also skeptical on the TikTok video of Pokimane
Several users explained her about she can cross-check whether the email is legit or not, they also expressed their disappointment to see that the content creator was being scammed but some users pointed out that she could have posted the video on Twitter but she chose to do it on TikTok for more engagement.
Pokimane is not the only high-profile influencer to face such a situation as prominent Twitch streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth‘ Siragusa has shared multiple times about how stalkers made her life a menace.
