XDefiant is the new free-to-play 6v6 shooter game set in the Tom Clancy universe. Those who enjoy a good shooter game in general are eagerly awaiting its release. The closed beta of the game commenced on April 13th, and only a select few will get the chance to be part of it. But the biggest question is: when is XDefiant getting released?

Ubisoft’s XDefiant promises a fast-paced, action-packed gaming experience. It will consist of different factions and characters with unique abilities from various Ubisoft titles. Despite the delay, XDefiant continues to generate excitement among gamers.

What is the release date for XDefiant?

So far, Ubisoft hasn’t revealed the release date of XDefiant. However, it’s highly likely it will release sometime this year. The game has already gone through several beta tests and is currently in closed beta. Players can get access to the closed beta by registering themselves on Ubisoft’s website.

XDefiant will be available across various platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Amazon Luna. Ubisoft’s website has so far only said “COMING SOON” about the release.

Factions

Ubisoft’s XDefiant will have five different factions for players to choose from. These are LibertadCleanersPhantoms, Echelon, and DedSec. However, DedSec will only be available later on.

XDefiant Maps

Players can access a total of 14 maps in the closed XDefiant beta, whether Ubisoft adds all of these in the proper game or omits few remains to be seen. These maps are:

  • Arena
  • DUMBO
  • Echelon HQ
  • Emporium
  • Liberty
  • Mayday
  • Meltdown
  • Midway
  • Nudleplex
  • Pueblito
  • Showtime
  • Times Square
  • Zoo

Game modes

Players can dive into 4 different game modes in XDefiant, these are Escort, Domination, Zone Central and Occupy. So far, players will onyl have access to unranked games.

Ubisoft’s entry into the Arena Battle Royale genre has already made a favorable first impression among gamers, sparking comparisons with its competitors. The true measure of success for this new venture, however, will depend on the game’s official release and reception. An advantage in its favor is that the game will be free-to-play, which is likely to entice a significant number of gamers to give it a try.
