Epic Games brought back OG Fortnite after Chapter 4 Season 4. They returned the game to Chapter 1 and previous chapters. This comes with reintroducing several gameplay mechanics and items, such as Hoverboards that were removed from the game. One of the reintroduced items is the Grapple Glove in Fortnite, which was one of the best mobility items in Chapter 3.

The Grappe Glove in Fortnite is a utility item used to traverse the map easily. Players can grapple to different surfaces and launch themselves towards them. It is similar to the web shooters. The device does come with an overheating mechanism that prevents overuse. The cooldown is dependent on how much the item was used. It can also be broken when it runs out of charges or is shot down by an opponent.

Obtain the Grapple Glove in Fortnite

The Grapple Glove in Fortnite is quite a difficult item to get. The glove can only be obtained through rift encounters and supply drops in Fortnite OG. Rift encounters are a new twist introduced by Epic Games into Fortnite. They act as a gateway for items from Chapter 4 to enter into the OG map. Grapple Gloves cannot be found as floor loot or in chests. You will also be able to obtain it by eliminating players already carrying the device and looting them.

Rift Encounters occur completely randomly, and there is no way to know when you will encounter one. Hence, you will have to keep your eyes peeled throughout the game. You will see a blue shimmer of light at a random location, with explosive sounds accompanying the event. A mysterious wooden structure will then spawn on the map.

A random rift encounter will occur on the Fortnite Season OG map. It will also spawn in the Anarchy Agent NPC. You will also notice a toolbox near the structure that contains the grapple glove. You can then walk up to the toolbox and store the glove in your inventory. After equipping the grapple glove, you can use it to attach to different locations and shoot yourself across the map.
