There has been a long discussion and debate regarding the two streaming platforms going up against each other for a while now. Kick, a comparatively young platform, has sent ripples on the internet by signing Twitch streamer xQc for $100 million and OnlyFans sensation Amouranth for a whopping $30 million. Following these popular switches, Pokimane’s chat asked her whether she would switch to Kick.

During her June 20, 2023 stream that lasted 46 minutes, Pokimane briefly talked about the ongoing debate surrounding the two big platforms and her reasons as to why she would not switch to Kick. As surprising as it is Pokimane seems to dislike the idea of switching platforms just for lucrative deals and contracts.

With a popularity that keeps soaring for Kick, it took the right opportunity to lure in some of the biggest stars to its platform. And this has naturally put a lot of up-and-coming streamers in the mood to think about doing the same. More interestingly, considering the money and whopping offers that Kick has been giving off, the deals are tough to turn down. However, Pokimane shot down the same question by putting her morals and ethics in the front row.

During a recent stream, the popular streamer was asked about her thoughts on joining Kick, to which she simply replied, “Nope.“. She then went on to elaborate on her idea as to why she would not accept an offer worth $10 million. Pokimane, in her defense, said, “And it’s not because I’ve got $10 million. It’s just because I am as good as I am. Why would I compromise my morals and ethics for more money when I have money? Something about that is so cringe-worthy to me personally.”

Continuing her train of thought, she further went on to say, “I understand, you know if you need to make money. For me to do cringe sh*t when I have money, I can’t. Like, ew.”

According to Pokimane, switching platforms for the sake of money and promoting the same is against her ethics and morals. This might boil down to calling out public figures who have previously switched to Kick from Twitch.

Considering Kick is going after every big-time streamer to join the newly launched platform, it will be a test of time for Pokimane to see if she stays true to her words. While Kick is consistently dropping off new arrivals on their platform, it will be pretty interesting to see if any such offers reach Pokimane.
