Europa League: Barcelona vs Napoli Player Ratings as Ferran Torres has a forgettable night

Goals from Piotr Zieliński and Ferran Torres has set up the second leg of the UEFA Europa League knockout round-play off tie between Napoli and Barcelona for an exciting finish in Naples as the two teams played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Camp Nou, Barcelona.

Let us have a look at how each player from the two teams performed:

Ferran Torres broke down for missing several scoring chances as Barcelona drew 1-1 with Napoli.

Barcelona

Marc Andre-Ter Stegen (GK) (7/10): Ter Stegen was mostly unused in the game except on four occasions and he did make three decent saves.

FS Video

Jordi Alba (6/10): Alba was useful in attack and could eke out spaces down the left.

Eric Garcia (7/10): Garica put up a redeeming performance after his disastrous display against Espanyol. He was stable enough and kept a tight line of defence.

Gerard Pique (7/10): Pique had a usual game of consistency and kept the Napoli strikers at bay for almost all of the game.

Oscar Mingueza (6/10): Mingueza was useful while pressing against the opposition but looked nervy at times at defence.

Pedri (8/10): He controlled the Barcelona gameplay in the central areas in a versatile role. Pedri created a number of openings and also earned the ball back.

Frenkie de Jong (7/10): The Dutch midfielder put up a decent defensive shift and never allowed Napoli to dominate the midfield.

Nicolas Gonzalez (8/10): Similar to the role of de Jong, Nico Gonzalez was on top of his game and brushed aside the Napoli opposition in the central areas.

Ferran Torres (5/10): Torres missed four big chances to score for Barcelona and was wasteful in front of the goal despite scoring the penalty.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (7/10): Aubameyang had a decent outing and put pressure on the Napoli defence.

Adama Traore (7/10): Traore was a livewire down the right-wing and delivered in some decent crosses, including the one which earned Barcelona the penalty.

Substitutes

Sergino Dest (N/A)

Sergio Busquets (7/10): Busquets allowed Barcelona to play with the ball a lot more often in the final third of the game, thanks to his wide range coverage in defensive positions.

Gavi (7/10): Gavi changed the pace of the game in the final few minutes and created a decent number of chances for Barcelona to score.

Ousmane Dembele (8/10): Dembele lit up the right flank of the Barcelona attacking shape. Despite jeers and boos from his own fans, Dembele created a number of goal scoring opportunities.

Luuk de Jong (N/A)

Napoli

Alex Meret (8/10): Meret was kept on his toes throughout the game and did well to almost keep a clean sheet but for that Ferran Torres penalty.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo (6/10): Lorenzo seldom managed to help out his team in attack and was confined mostly to the defensive areas.

Amir Rrahmani (7/10): Amir Rrahmani had a decent game and managed to keep the Barcelona strikers at bay and away from useful scoring positions.

Kalidou Koulibaly (7/10): Koulibaly led the Napoli defence and maintained the shape of the backline with his leadership. He rallied his defenders and kept things tight and difficult for Barcelona.

Juan Jesus (6/10): Jesus rarely managed to get the ball in the opposition half and was mostly rendered to helplessly mark Adama Traore.

Fabian Ruiz (5/10): Ruiz was overpowered by the Barcelona midfield and had a forgettable game.

Andre Zambo Anguissa (5/10): Anguissa also could not display his creative style and was forced to play behind the ball.

Eljif Elmas (6/10): Elmas was marked with the likes of Jordi Alba and Pedri and could not really have much of an impact on the game.

Piotr Zieliński (7/10): Zielinski scored the opening goal for Napoli and was the primary target man for Napoli.

Lorenzo Insigne © (6/10): Insigne swung in some dangerous-looking crosses from the left and had a decent game.

Victor Osimhen (5/10): Osimhen managed to find space for himself in attacking moves from Napoli but never looked convincing enough.
