Jose Mourinho will be pleased with his side’s 2-1 victory against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the Europa League qualification round that will see them through to the competition. This victory comes as their first win this season, after recently losing 1-0 to Everton in the Premier League.
Harry Kane scored from the spot at the 80’th minute with Tanguy N’dombele scoring the winning at the 92’nd minute. It was a hard-fought victory with Tottenham Hotspur going down 1-0 in the 71’st minute.
First Half:
The first half was quite even between the two sides, with the half ending 0-0. However, Spurs did not come extremely close to getting the lead many times with Son, Kane and Bergwijn coming very close to finding the net.
Bergwijn hit the bar in the 10’th minute with Lokomotiv Plovdiv’s keeper Martin Lukov making some good saves as well.
Second Half:
Tottenham Hotspur were more of a mess in the second half with losing position many times and even allowing Lokomotiv Plovdiv’s midfielder Georgi Minchev to score from a corner. Jose Mourinho’s side, however, did not give up and came back into the game. Lokomotiv Plovdiv’s two players were shown red cards which resulted in a penalty scored by Harry Kane. A winner was soon netted by Spurs’ last season’s star signing Tanguy N’dombele in the 92nd minute.
