European Super League owners vow to reshape the project as all Premier League clubs make an exit

Florentino Perez's plans are crushed to the ground.

Within 48 hours of being announced, the so called European Super League has already been dissolved. All six of the big Premier League clubs have decided to take a U-turn and withdraw from the league. Much of the credit goes to Chelsea and Manchester City who were the first to comment on the withdrawal process.

European Super League remains hungry for money

Soon after Chelsea and Manchester City decided that the backlash from the fans was too much, they decided to withdraw. Following these two clubs Manchester United andLiverpool ( both of whose players protested extensively) were followed finally by Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

This poses a big problem to the official’s of the European Super League as half of their founding members have decided to quit. Moreover Inter Milan and AC Milan are on the verge of doing so as well.

An European Super League official say that the current circumstances make it difficult but they remain committed to improving the structure of European football and want the money to be equally distributed between all stakeholders.

Despite the announced departure of the English clubs, forced to take such decisions due to the pressure on them, we are convinced our proposal is fully aligned with European law and regulations,” an ESL statement read.

Given the current circumstances, we shall reconsider the most appropriate steps to reshape the project, always having in mind our goals of offering fans the best experience possible while enhancing solidarity payments for the entire football community.”
