Evander Holyfield compares Anthony Joshua with Tyson Fury, feels Anthony Joshua is better than all others ‘on paper’
Anthony Joshua knocked the lights out on Kubrat Pulev at the Wembley Arena in London, this Saturday, thereby successfully defending his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles. No sooner did he win, than talks began of a fight against Tyson Fury.
Speaking about this in an interview with DAZN Boxing, former boxing great Evander Holyfield spoke about both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. He felt that Anthony Joshua was the best fighter on ‘paper’.
“Tyson Fury win if he wanna win” -Evander Holyfield
Speaking of Anthony Joshua, Holyfield said, “I think Anthony Joshua might be, on paper, the better fighter of all of them. You know because he’s a gold medalist and he is a good fighter. And the individual himself is like, when you talk about individuals you talk about the heart of a person. What does a person do? I know he capable of being the very best of everybody, but the whole big thing that when pressure hit him… what type of person is he gonna be?”
Clearly impressed with the way Tyson Fury adapts to situations and makes adjustments, Holyfield said, “Tyson Fury is the only person that I know that…he makes adjustment after him. He win if he wanna win. I just think that he’s one of them type of guy…he don’t look like a fighter, he look like a basketball player. But, he makes adjustments, I think that when people can make adjustments, these are the people who are proven to be good fighters.“
Do you agree with Evander Holyfield? Is Anthony Joshua the best fighter on paper?
