Everton hosts Manchester City and have opportunity to close gap with Liverpool in midweek fixture
Influential playmaker James Rodriguez is set to miss the crunch clash against Manchester City along with striker Richarlison

Everton can go joint top with Liverpool if they win this match against Manchester City. Liverpool dropped points against West Bromwich Albion and as a result missed the chance to put more points between them and the rest of top four. Manchester City have won three matches in a row and are only one point behind the top 4. A win today will take them to second place atleast temporarily as Leicester and Manchester United play later.

No Richarlison and James Rodriguez for Everton

Everton will not have the services of Richarlison and James Rodriguez for this match as both of them are still recovering from their injuries. Richarlison had a concussion in the match against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup and hasn’t been cleared yet to play. James Rodriguez still needs time to recover it would seem.

Manchester City have only Eric Garcia out for injury while Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker both tested positive for COVID-19. Sergio Aguero has returned from injury and will feature for the team. It remains to be seen who makes the team as all of them are in quite good form. A win for either team will further their aim for title credentials as Everton could go joint top while Manchester City can go to second place.
