Anthony Richardson is still sluggish as he recovers from an injured AC joint that kept him out for the remainder of last season. On top of it, reports from the Indianapolis Colts camp suggested that newly signed Daniel Jones seems to be winning the quarterback battle.

It’s worth noting that Richardson was out for many reps due to rehab. Still, winning over Colts fans will be tough. They’ve seen the franchise struggle to fill the void left by Andrew Luck‘s sudden retirement in 2019.

Richardson seemed like the answer to the woes. The 6-foot-4, 244-pounder from Miami decided to forgo his final year of college and entered the draft in 2023. The Colts drafted him, and the initial days were promising until he sprained his AC joint.

CBS Sports Cody Benjamin, in his latest article on Richardson, wrote,

Two years in, he’s only managed to suit up for 15 games, and his most notable moment may have been when he checked himself out of the lineup… Completing barely 50% of his throws is also a problem.

Despite his shortcomings, Benjamin pointed out that Richardson still has his upside and can be useful if developed properly.

Fans are shocked to see Anthony Richardson releasing rap videos instead of polishing his quarterback skills

Daniel Jones received ample praise from player-turned-football-analyst Bart Scott following his move to Indy.

I think Danny Dimes can end up having a Sam Darnold-type of year, a bounce-back. He’s never been in an environment. The environment matters. He never had an RB like Taylor. Well, he had Saquon, but they didn’t have an offensive line. He has two outstanding number one receivers on the outside.

In the meantime, fans experienced a new side of Anthony Richardson.

The 23-year-old tried his luck in rap. Richardson released a music video titled ‘Talk to 2,’ in collaboration with GVO Speero, featuring Big VO and GVO CJ.

The video crossed over 9,000 views, but fans don’t seem keen on Richardson’s talent in the performing arts.

The Colts should rest easy because the video came out over two years ago, when he was just starting out as an NFL quarterback. He is focused on bettering the 11 touchdowns to 13 interceptions ratio.

Richardson is elite when it comes to using his feet. He added 10 touchdowns on the ground, covering 635 yards from 111 carries. The Colts’ coaches must develop the Florida graduates’ passing prowess. If they manage to succeed, then the Colts may have a long-term quarterback in their hands.
