Goran Ivanisevic, Novak Djokovic‘s coach from 2019 to 2024, offered his former protegee very high praise after his record-breaking win at the Paris Olympics.
Ivanisevic and Djokovic parted ways earlier this year. However, the 52-year-old remains a big supporter of the World No. 2, as do others from his team who were let go at the start of 2024. He lauded the Serbian’s resilience and said nobody stands a chance against him if he is motivated to win.
Only a crazy person would say that he doesn’t have it in him anymore. When he really wants it, nobody can beat him, regardless of who is across the net. It is an amazing switch he was able to make in his mind, Wimbledon was only two-three weeks ago. The will, the desire, the strength.

Thrilled with his good friend’s victory, he also credited Djokovic’s mental fortitude for this historic feat that he achieved despite his opponent, Carlos Alcaraz, being over 16 years younger than him.
Novak Djokovic throws a party and celebrates his Olympics victory with good friend Janko Tipsarevic
After finally achieving his goal of winning an Olympic gold for his country, Novak Djokovic has been celebrating with his fans and compatriots alike. Immediately after his win, he was seen singing alongside fans with the Serbian flag proudly draped onto his shoulders and the medal still around his neck.
Despite choosing not to stay at the Olympic Village with the rest of the Serbian contingent, he visited it right after the initial celebrations, where he was swarmed by admirers who idolized him. He seems to have decided not to take the medal off as he was seen with it again at a restaurant in Paris, officially celebrating his victory with friends and family.
Seen dancing to the tunes there was Janko Tipsarevic, a good friend of Djokovic and a former World No. 8 who also represented Serbia between 2006 and 2019. Djokovic has earned the right to celebrate till he’s satisfied as he has achieved everything there is to achieve in the sport.
