In Short
  • Danny Torres, a retired Miami cop, celebrated Tyreek Hill's release from the Dolphins on Facebook.
  • Torres previously dragged Hill from his car during a speeding incident before a game in 2024.
  • Tyreek Hill has been linked to a potential return to the Kansas City Chiefs following his release.

Tyreek Hill may not be the only happiest person to find out that the Dolphins released him a couple of days ago. There’s one other who celebrated the news by writing a fiery post on Facebook after the 31-year-old wide receiver’s four-year stint in South Beach ended.

The individual in question is Danny Torres, a retired police officer who worked at the Miami-Dade Police Station.

Hmmm… I guess it took a bit, but Karma got you. Now that I am retired, I can tell you how I feel about you. You’re an entitled A***** and an embarrassment to the team and city that kissed your a**. I wish you the best and hope you are able to afford all that child support, especially now that you’re unemployed. But I’m sure someone will pick you up, and you will cause havoc in their team and city. Just how you did in Miami.

Certainly not a subtle send-off by Torres. Now the question arises: Who is Danny Torres? Let’s jog everyone’s memory.

On September 24, 2024, Miami-Dade police motorcycle riders stopped Hill’s vehicle for speeding. Hill was on his way to attend the Dolphins’ opening day fixture against the Jaguars. After Hill refused to comply, the cops used force on the Pro Bowl receiver by pinning him down on the sidewalk.

Hill was taken into custody but was allowed to leave in time to start for the Dolphins. Miami won the game with Hill racking up 130 yards and 1 touchdown from 7 catches. During the post-game press conference, Hill addressed his arrest.

I will say I could have been better—you know, I could have let down my window—in that instant… But at the end of the day, you know, I’m human. I have to follow rules. I have to, you know, do what everyone else would do. Now, does that give them the right to literally beat the dog out of me? Absolutely not. But at the end of the day, I wish I could go back and, you know, do things a bit differently.

The cop who asked Hill to lower the window of his car was none other than Torres. When asked about what kind of action the authorities should take against Torres, Hill replied, “Gone, gone, gone. He gotta go, man.”

Following widespread criticism, the Miami-Dade Police relegated Torres to a desk position and ultimately removed him from his duties. After the Dolphins released Hill on Tuesday, Torres posted his reaction on Facebook.

Btw, next time, roll your f***ing window down.

Tyreek Hill returns to Kansas City

With Hill no longer a Dolphins player, Hill packed his bags and left his home in Miami this week. On Wednesday, his fans noticed that Hill is in Kansas City.

Hill confirmed the suspicion by posting a selfie on Snapchat. He has been heavily linked with a move back to the Chiefs since the start of last year. His chances skyrocketed recently.

The timing of Hill’s post is very significant, considering the Chiefs just created $44 million in cap space by restructuring Patrick Mahomes’ contract. Moreover, there’s a growing sentiment that the Chiefs might move on from Rashee Rice with his new off-the-field activities coming to light.

However, the Chiefs must take into account that Hill is recovering from a serious knee injury that could severely limit his speed, which he is known for. Before making any decision about Hill, Brett Veach must confirm that Hill can still be an elite deep-ball threat like he was during his last stint in KC.
