Gosder Cherilus found himself in the scrutinizing eyes of the law after being accused of urinating on a fellow passenger on a flight. This incident has drawn immense attention on social media, given the high-profile status of the former NFL star.
On Sunday, 18th August, Cherilus was aboard a Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Boston to Ireland. However, at the wake of dawn, Massachusetts State Police received the call about the ill behavior of the former footballer, demanding to get off the flight. They described his behavior as “unruly” and “uncooperative” at 2 AM.
As handling the situation at the moment became tough for the police, they dragged him off the plane and took him into custody while charging him with disorderly conduct and disrupting the flight crew. At his arraignment on Monday, held in East Boston District Court, Cherilus pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him and was released after submitting the bail bond of $2,500.
Cherilus is using the defense of intoxication after taking sleeping medication which made his behavior hostile and unruly. He also apologized to the flight crew and the woman passenger he urinated on, in his released statement on social media.
Gosder Cherilus’s erratic behavior during flight
According to the police, the flight landed back in Boston at 2:33 at Boston Logan International Airport, because of Cherilus’s unruly behavior, who also urinated on a fellow passenger on board. The passenger upon whom he urinated was Dr. Connee Bush, identified by WCVB.
I did notice, earlier on the flight, that he did a lot of vocalizing… not, you know, nonsensical kinds of things… and whistled every once in a while. I could not believe the copious amounts of urine. My blanket was soaked. There was a puddle in my seat when I got up. There was urine splattered on the monitor screen in front.Dr. Connee Bush told NewsCenter 5
Bush – who was traveling to Boston for a college football match, was said to be sleeping in her pod when the Boston College football star began urinating on her. Her husband tried to intervene and stop Cherilus, but his attempts were futile.
Later on, when the troopers ordered the 40-year-old to get off the plane, he became “irate and uncooperative” and warned them not to touch him. Once the Massachusetts State Police arrived, he was ultimately hauled and taken into custody.
