The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one team that can be trusted to make a playoff push consistently. The credit goes to HC Mike Tomlin who continues to work with any cards that he is dealt with. With two new quarterbacks on the roster Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, Tomlin has the Steelers ranked second in the AFC North.
If it were any other team in this scenario then there would be some confidence that they can be considered as a Super Bowl contender, however, Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are not built to reach there this year. At least that is what former NFL linebacker Bart Scott believes.
Speaking his mind on ESPN’s Get Up, Scott revealed his reasoning for having no confidence in the Steelers. The veteran’s opinion is formed on the basis of Tomlin’s track record and the Steelers’ struggles in their last three games.
"We've seen this the last four times Mike Tomlin has been in the postseason, he's been one and done. I don't see anything changing that unless they get the Houston Texans."

Pittsburgh Steelers has struggled when it goes up against the best teams in the NFL
In the last three games, the team has lost against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Apart from Philly, it is definite that the Steelers will go up against Kansas City or the Ravens in the playoffs and if they are unable to hold them down in the regular season, then they cannot be trusted to do the same in the post-season.
Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are quarterbacks who turn the heat up in the playoffs. Russell Wilson has been in big games before but in the last three weeks, he has been sacked 10 times, thrown 3 interceptions, and fumbles. The Steelers cannot turn their O-line around at this stage and to rely solely on their defense in the playoffs would be an ineffective strategy.
However, there is one exception where Bart Scott believes the Steelers can win two games in the playoffs and that is if they get to face the Houston Texans in the first round. C.J. Stroud and the Texans are short-staffed heading into the playoffs with Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs out with injuries. This time Mike Tomlin has the chance to prove the critics wrong and make a serious push with this roster.
