Joanna Jedrzejczyk is widely regarded as one of the most respected figures in women’s UFC history, praised for her discipline and remarkable longevity at the elite level. A former UFC strawweight champion, Jedrzejczyk cemented her legacy with five successful title defenses, consistently proving her championship caliber against the division’s toughest contenders.

Although retired from active competition, the Polish standout remains closely connected to the sport through interviews and media appearances. Recently, she caught fans off guard by sharing a surprising real-life encounter involving a physical confrontation outside the Octagon.

Appearing on a podcast with UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell, Jedrzejczyk reflected on various moments from her career before recounting an unexpected incident at a bar. She described meeting an intoxicated stranger, admitting she felt scared at first, before calmly assessing the situation and handling it with composure, demonstrating that her mental toughness extends far beyond fight night.

One time I was at a party. They were super drunk. [This guy] was spilling a beer and the DJ said ‘please the dance floor with the glass.’ He was still dancing, so I told him, ‘hey man, I think the DJ was talking to you, so you should go.’ He started [talking smack] to me, and told me to suck his d**k. So I was like ‘oh really? Boom and he went down.  I was scared to death and I left the party and left the club.

The veteran explained that she feared someone might return for revenge, so she stayed alert and prepared. Following that incident, Jedrzejczyk decided to avoid public confrontations and unnecessary street fights whenever possible. However, she has not always been fortunate enough to completely avoid such situations.

At UFC 323 in Las Vegas, Jedrzejczyk was involved in a heated verbal altercation with Jamahal Hill in the VIP lounge. The exchange began when Hill and Jedrzejczyk confronted each other, and the former 205lbs kingpin started threatening to “knock [her] out” while security intervened. Both later shared their perspectives on the brief but intense confrontation, with Jedrzejczyk expressing embarrassment.

Moreover, Hill made a YouTube video about the incident and mentioned how it was all a misunderstanding that caused the conflict. However, it definitely wasn’t as serious as Jedrzejczyk’s previous encounter with the drunk man.

With Zhang Weili and Valentina Shevchenko having already collided at 125lbs at UFC 322, Jedrzejczyk was questioned about a possible comeback to competitive fighting. The fighter shared her opinion in detail and gave an honest answer about his potential comeback.

I miss fighting but I think I made a smart decision in Singapore. I would love to comeback but I don’t wanna be one of the fighters who is like, ”Oh, let me fight for the belt”. I would have to back in line and chase it again but is it worth it? I don’t know.
