The NASCAR Cup garage is set to return to the regular season racing next week at Charllotte Motor Speedway on May 26th, Sunday. This week the teams took a break from points racing for the mid-season for the All-Star race weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway. It is the longest race of the 2024 season with 600 miles action on offer.

According to latest reports racing wont only be the highlight of the day for the fans. Ex-US President Donald Trump is reportedly set attend the race on Sunday. Reports quoting Charllotte Motor Speedway president Greg Walter, CBJ’s journalist reported that the republican party leader is planning to attend the race.

We are hearing that the 45th president of the United States is making plans to attend our race this weekend.
Greg Walter told Erik Spanberg of Charlotte Business Journal.

It isn’t the first time Trump is making a NASCAR appearance. He was present in the 2020 Daytona 500 while he was still in the office. He also attended the most recent F1 Miami GP as well. The visits are part of his campaign for the presidential election against current president Joe Biden.

Kyle Larson’s double duty might get ruined by Donald Trump’s visit

The NASCAR fans are not only concerned about the Coke 600 this weekend, as there is also the Indy 500 going on next-Sunday. 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson is set to drive in the Indy 500 with McLaren attempting the iconic double duty.

But his attempt might be jeopardy because of Donald Trump and his security details. Because him being a former president, there might be some restriction for the sir-space around the track. This would restrict Larson’s rush back to Charlotte after the Brickyard race.

It would be interesting to see what will happen on 26th May and whether all the reports are rumours might come true. Even if trump is visiting, NASCAR would be doing everything they can to make arrangements for Larson’s schedule to be proper.
