Back with his former team, Ezekiel Elliott couldn’t be happier. However, this excitement ended up being pretty costly for him as he got hit in a sensitive area during the Cowboys’ practice drills–making him the center of attention at the training camp.
As much as everyone felt sorry for the running back, his exaggerated reaction afterward gave everyone a good laugh. While carrying footballs in both hands, Elloitt was on his running drill when he got hit in his crotch resulting in excruciating pain that he had to drop the footballs from his hand.
Elliott then put both his hands on his knee and made wild noises because of the intense pain and the video of this comical incident has gone viral on the internet. The running back’s ability to laugh off such incidents and keep things light during the camp reflects his leadership skills and experience.
Apart from this mishap during the training camp, Elliot is determined to bounce back from the disappointing season he had in 2023. With the Cowboys, he is aiming to regain his old form and lead the team to a deep playoff run in the coming 2024 season.
Cowboys players awaiting contracts amidst unmet expectations
After the bizarre end to an impressive season last year, the Cowboys faced intense criticism from the fans for the lack of offseason moves where the team could have added potential players to the roster. The criticism was especially directed at owner Jerry Jones, who previously claimed the team was “all-in” for the 2024 season but remained absolutely silent in the offseason.
In addition to that, quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons are all awaiting their contract extensions from the team despite leading the Cowboys to the playoff with the NFC East title. Meanwhile, head coach Mike McCarthy remained with the team even though his credibility as a head coach was in question.
This has caused a lot of anger and frustration among the fans, to the point where they have very few expectations from the team. And until the Cowboys prove themselves again, they won’t win back the lost fans or the glory they once had.
