“CUT THIS CLOWN!!!” – Ezekiel Elliott’s sudden demotion from Cowboys before Falcons games fuels exit demands
The Dallas Cowboys chose to demote an undisciplined Ezekiel Elliott, keeping him in Dallas as the team travels to Atlanta for the Falcons game.

Ezekiel Elliott has hit a new low at Arlington. On Saturday, the Dallas Cowboys announced that the Pro Bowl running back will not travel to Atlanta for the Week 9 fixture against the Falcons.
The announcement arrives at a very crucial juncture for the Cowboys. They sit 3-4 and require all the help they need, especially on the ground, considering Mike McCarthy’s team lingers at the bottom of the league for yards per carry and touchdowns scored. So the decision to leave the 29-year-old makes little sense unless there’s something else wrong behind the scenes.
While the Cowboys themselves did not cite any specific reason for the sudden demotion, several leaks from within the organization hinted that the Cowboys benched Ezekiel Elliott for disciplinary reasons.
CBS Sports Jonathan Jones first broke the reason behind the Cowboys not including Elliott in their roster for the Falcons game.
Ezekiel Elliott not traveling with the Cowboys for disciplinary reasons has been building for some time within the team, source tells me. It was in everyone’s best interest he not accompany the team this weekend.

Jones’ revelation received backing from Dallas insider Kevin Gray Jr. and ESPN’s Todd Archer.
Ezekiel Elliott will not be active vs. Atlanta and will not make the trip with the Cowboys because of disciplinary reasons, according to a source. First time he is a healthy scratch in a non-season finale in his career.

Football fans speculate the Cowboys may cut Ezekiel Elliott
Elliott hasn’t had the triumphant return he and the Cowboys fans had hoped for. During the week 8 defeat to the 49ers, Elliott only contributed 34 yards from 10 carries and overall has 149 yards on 48 attempts. This is a complete 180 from his first stint with the Dallas outfit when he led the league in rushing three times.
This year he’s third in the rushing department led by Rico Dowdle. With Dalvin Cook back in action, fans believe Elliott’s in trouble and may even lose his job.
Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott was told he would be inactive for Sunday’s game, those w/ knowledge of what took place said.

A mutual decision was then made that he not accompany the team to Atlanta.
Obviously, Elliott’s reaction to the news prompted the mutual decision. pic.twitter.com/e2jguBbnNk
So it sounds like Ezekiel Elliott threw a hissy fit because he was told he’d be inactive this week and now he’s not traveling with the team…

If that’s the case, why is he on this football team? It’s time to move on…#DallasCowboys https://t.co/Xi7B92g6w2
Signing Ezekiel Elliott was the most boneheaded move by the cowboys this past offseason.

Whenever Ezekiel Elliott was made inactive it was always going to be a massive story.

Only the Cowboys could turn it into a controversy and make it even bigger
Jerry Jones was right

Ezekiel Elliott is a much better fit for the Cowboys’ offense than Derrick Henry https://t.co/Rq2eYIgWLA
If you read it out loud it says, “Moron Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott…” which seems fitting https://t.co/u2vp21NlDV

PLEEEEEASE CUT THIS CLOWN!!! Dowdle as RB1 and Cook as RB2! I'll take this team a little more serious if they cut Zeke! #CowboysNation https://t.co/rtvD70KMyV

Honestly At This Point Let Just Stop Playing Football Games & Turn The Rest Of This Cowboys Season Into A Netflix Drama Series. Every Week Is A New Story Of Drama https://t.co/FUxHatAD5c

Time to cut Zeke so he can go play for a contender.

Will miss those 6 inches per carry

this is so stupid I wish I could point and laugh at the Dallas Cowboys but I root for that stupid team. I'm surprised he isn't flying over with Jerry directly and getting walked into the starting rotation by Stephen Jones personally https://t.co/vtrwfdT8bb

Owner Jerry Jones has faced severe criticism throughout the year for not signing a quality running back and then bringing Elliott back from New England. And even after that, the Cowboys limited his time on the field.
In October, reporters asked Jones the reason behind not playing Elliott too much. The question left him dumbfounded, and in return, he also provided an equally awkward answer.
Are the Cowboys still saving Elliott by benching him, or will they move on from him? He only signed a one-year deal, so he will hit free agency after this season.
