Adrian Newey had to work on the RB17 Hypercar for one last time before exiting from all duties at Red Bull. Hence, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Milton Keynes revealed Newey’s one final project for the team. The aero-genius worked very hard over the chassis to make it extremely fast and fall under ‘aircraft’ territory.

Red Bull’s RB17 Hypercar designed by Adrian Newey was priced at around a whopping $6.2 Million. Christian Horner has showcased his hopes to view the Hypercar partake in the 24 hours of Le Mans. However, the Hypercar is an extremely fast and capable machine with which the aero-genius ‘pushed the boundaries’. As a result, the car was more of a ‘work of art’ rather than a simple supercar.

RB17 really is pushing the boundaries of everything we've learned into one car. For me the car of this level should also be a piece of art.
Adrian Newey said during the launch of the RB17 Hypercar (H&T: @redbullracing/Youtube).

Additionally, the RB17 Hypercar has some out-of-the-world specs that potentially put it way above the other cars. Newey pointed out that the downforce to drag ratio on the Hypercar landed it into ‘aircraft territory’. Notably, such a car had never been built before in the history of motor racing.

Adrian Newey claims the price of the RB17 is ‘very high’

The RB17 Hypercar is definitely not one of the ordinary street vehicles in the world. The chassis is developed by one of the greatest engineers ever in the history of Formula 1. Additionally, the specs of the car put forth some highly impressive details. However, expectedly the price is an astonishing $6.2 Million which isn’t affordable for the usual car owners.

Adrian Newey claimed that the RB17 was priced at a ‘very high’ price that made people think ‘oh crikey’.

It's a very high price, you still think, 'Oh Crikey.'
Adrian Newey noted.

Newey’s mastercraft with the RB17 Hypercar will go down as a rare piece in the coming decades. The aero-genius wouldn’t work on any of the other Red Bull projects going ahead in the 2025 season. Hence, this year was probably the last campaign witnessing the technical wizard’s mastercraft with Milton Keynes in F1.
