Adrian Newey is set to leave Red Bull after spending 18 long years with the team. Many people including the Red Bull team believed that the 65-year-old would take a break from his career if not completely retired. However, rumors suggest that few top teams are trying to recruit the British engineer, but he believes in not making any decisions in a rush.

The aero-genius Adrian Newey, is one of the sport’s most successful engineers winning 13 drivers’ and 12 constructors’ championships with various teams. Newey talking to the media stated he is not in a hurry to make a decision to serve which team next. He mentioned it wasn’t surprising to him when other teams showed their interest in working with him, when he announced his departure. The Briton understands that his skills and experience are valuable, which naturally attracts attention from other teams in the sport.

It wasn’t a big surprise when other teams showed an interest after I announced I was leaving.

Currently, Newey is not planning to rush into a decision about his future. He believed he needed some time to think about whether he wanted to continue working in Formula 1. The 65-year-old reckoned, taking a break would help him reflect on his decisions if he’s ready for another challenge in the sport. Newey expressed that he wanted to avoid boredom from working with another F1 team since he had been in the sport for so long. He believed this could lead to a loss of passion for his work and felt he might start going stale.

But I won’t make a quick decision about my future. I need a break to work out if I want to have another go in F1. I also didn’t want to risk going stale.

On the other hand, if they are winning, their focus shifts to finding ways to maintain that success and keep performing at a high level.

After decades working in Formula 1 I’ve become used to the non-stop pressure. If you’re not winning you’re trying to understand why, and if you are winning you are trying to stay there.
