Adrian Newey made his shocking exit from Red Bull during the ongoing 2024 season. The aero-genius finished his duties on the RB17 Hypercar and would completely exit the team during the early months of next year. Hence, the entire paddock, especially Christian Horner was shocked to find this out. Since then, Adrian Newey’s manager has recalled the team principal’s reaction to finding out about the news.

Christian Horner had hidden his true shock by saying that Red Bull was ‘aware’ of Adrian Newey‘s impending exit from the team. Newey’s manager, Eddie Jordan recalled that Horner was extremely surprised to find this out. Jordan claimed that the team principal’s jaw was pretty much on the floor after listening to this.

Christian, do you know what he called me? Do you know what he called me when he found this? First of all, his jaw was somewhere around near the end of his trousers.

Additionally, Newey’s manager joked that the Englishman had a ‘very big jaw’. Subsequently, the Irishmen recalled that Horner called him a ‘f**king silent assasin’ over the news being so secretive. There were fewer rumors about the aero-genius’ exit from the team. Hence, the 76-year-old questioned what the term actually meant.

Christian Horner will take crucial steps to ensure Red Bull continues its dominant performance beyond 2026. Jordan claimed that Horner was a ‘normal guy’ at first glance. However, the Irishmen highlighted that there was something ‘really smart’ going on inside the team principal’s head.

The former team owner added that the 50-year-old consistently got every decision right. Additionally, Horner was a ‘genius’ as per Jordan. The team principal knew how to take maximum advantage of the rules and how to get the best results. 

He consistently gets it right. He’s a genius when it comes to evaluating how to take advantage of the rules, how to get the best out of them, how to make sure the team and the car maximises every avenue.

Red Bull was thought to struggle after Newey’s exit from the team. However, multiple other important crew members will continue to work in the outfit’s progression. Additionally, the team also received multiple Mercedes engineers recently. Hence, Milton Keynes wouldn’t fail in terms of performance in the coming season.
