Adrian Newey is all set to join Aston Martin from the 2025 season onwards. The aero-genius is expected to bring his vast knowledge from Red Bull to the Silverstone-based team. Following the announcement, Newey’s wife, Amanda Newey, shared a hilarious farewell message for her husband.

Adrian Newey‘s brilliance has enabled multiple teams to achieve monumental success in the past. The aero-genius gives his undivided attention to the team he’s working for and help them improve in performance. Aston Martin, which has struggled in recent times, could see a major turnaround under Newey’s guidance. However, this also means Newey will have less time for his personal life as Amanda Newey humorously pointed out.

Mrs. Newey took to X and posted a hilarious tweet about bidding farewell to her husband. Amanda joked that she couldn’t wait to meet her ‘dear husband’ again following his Aston Martin arrival. The Briton further quipped about catching up with her husband in about five years after he’s satisfied with his stint in Formula 1.

Adrian Newey reveals ‘first target’ after Aston Martin arrival

Adrian Newey recently made his first visit to Aston Martin’s facility in Silverstone as the team shared a heartwarming post for the same. Newey, who is known to work with multiple teams in the past wouldn’t face many difficulties in integrating with the new faces. The 66-year-old revealed his initial target after his arrival to the team.

Newey pointed out that his first target in the Silverstone-based constructor was to simply know everyone and understand the workings of the team. The Englishman aimed to have a chat with the drivers and fellow engineers and bounce ideas off of them.

The first target really is to get to know everybody here, understand how everybody works, and try to integrate myself with everybody. It’s talking to the drivers, it’s talking to my fellow engineers, trying to bounce ideas off them. Getting that sort of creative flow going.

Although Newey did not contribute directly to Aston Martin’s 2025 car, his expertise is expected to bolster the team’s development throughout the season. Under his guidance, the team could see a significant performance boost as early as the latter half of the season.
