Red Bull once again failed to make their mark, securing a P5 and a DNF at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has since shared his thoughts on the team’s developments following the race at Baku.
The Milton-Keynes-based team has inevitably declined in comparison to their form at the start of the 2024 season. They have failed to win in any of the last seven races, which has helped McLaren take the lead in the constructors’ championship.
Helmut Marko has, however, claimed that his team will be back to its competitive standards during the upcoming United States GP. Red Bull is to bring a new set of upgrades to its RB20 ahead of the race in Austin.
We believe that from Austin we will have a package that should make us more competitive, probably even very competitive.Helmut Marko via Viaplay after Azerbaijan GP
The remaining fixtures of the campaign will be immensely crucial for the Milton-Keynes-based team from here on. They will have to inadvertently deliver good performances and secure wins to claim the championship this year.
Red Bull recalls positives despite dismal ending to Azerbaijan GP
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has praised his team for their valiant efforts despite the disappointment of Azerbaijan GP. Sergio Perez crashed during the closing stints of the race, which put an unfortunate end to his stellar run.
There is still a lot of racing to do. It was a magnificent race at the front and it was exciting to be a part off, until it ended like that.Christian Horner said after the race at Baku

Christian Horner has urged his team to keep their hopes up and focus on delivering good results in the upcoming races. Horner has also talked highly of Perez’s performance and has repented regarding the latter’s collision.
The RB20’s issues with balance is still a big problem for the reigning world champions. Despite improvements, a lot remains to be done in bridging the gap to their rivals in terms of performance.
