Ex-F1 mogul Bernie Ecclestone is known to be a polarizing figure with some rather controversial opinions. The 94-year-old has now made a bold declaration for US President Donald Trump as the Republican takes office for a second non consecutive term.
Trump defeated Democrat candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 US Presidential elections. In the first twenty days of office, he has made some bold decisions including pardoning over 1500 people for the January 6 riots at Capitol Hill in 2021.
Bernie Ecclestone asserted that Donald Trump was the best thing to happen to the world, labeling the US President as a ‘dealer.’ Ecclestone applauded Trump’s negotiating skills to find a common ground when things seem to be at a standstill. Previously, the former F1 Supremo had said he was ready to take a bullet for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump is the best thing that could happen to the world. As I’ve said right from day one, he is a dealer. He puts it like this: ‘OK, you don’t want me to do this? Well, this is what I want you to do. So, let’s do a deal. I’ll back off a little, but you have to wake up.’ He’s a good dealer.

Bernie Ecclestone recalls failed negotiations with Donald Trump
Long time ago, Ecclestone was keen on having a New York street race on the F1 calendar. The British billionaire was in discussions with Donald Trump for a potential deal. However, he was left annoyed by Trump’s demand for branding virtually everywhere. So much so, that the F1 Chief lashed out on the then-future US President.

I eventually said to him, ‘Do you know what? The only thing you haven’t asked to have your name on is toilet paper.’

Certainly, Bernie Ecclestone is no-nonsense man who does not shy away from sharing his opinion. The 94-year-old recently revealed that he even rejected knighthood way back in the 1990s. Nevertheless, Formula 1 as a sport has boomed since Ecclestone left his role after Liberty Media’s takeover.
