Carlos Sainz ended his four-year stint with Ferrari with the culmination of the 2024 season. The Spaniard is all set to join Williams from 2025 onwards. Sainz had the backing of some major sponsors at Ferrari as they set aim to leave the Italian constructor. One such sponsor is already taking the leap from Maranello to Williams.
Carlos Sainz had a lot of great moments in 2024 with Ferrari. The Spaniard was a great asset to Maranello not just because of his performances, but also the financial backing by sponsors from Spain. Hence, with Sainz’s switch in teams, some major sponsors have already started planning the shift in teams.
The $73 Billion worth Spanish multinational financial services ‘Santander’ has joined Williams from the coming season onwards. The Williams chassis will also showcase the sponsor’s brand on the front wing much like with Ferrari. Moreover, the FW46 will feature the brand during the end-of-the-season test with Sainz in Abu Dhabi.

Williams ‘proud’ to add Santander to the roster of ‘iconic partners’
Williams managed a mediocre performance in the 2024 season after acquiring P9 in the constructors’ championship. The team might receive a revival in performance after Sainz joins the team in the coming season. Speaking upon the deal with Santander, Williams boss James Vowles reckoned that the team was proud to add the giant to the roster of iconic partners.
The 2025 season has massive changes in motion for the teams and drivers. The final season of the ground-effect era might witness a big change in the order due to the changes. Hence, the excitement will start building up early on for the upcoming season as Williams aims to provide Sainz with the best possible opportunity.
