Carlos Sainz faced a disappointing situation in the 2024 season after he was ousted from the team and replaced by Lewis Hamilton. The Spaniard still received an opportunity to race with Williams in the coming season. However, the Grove-based manufacturer wasn’t as impressive as the other options available to Sainz.

Carlos Sainz Sr. sided with Carlos Sainz Jr. after the latter was ousted from Ferrari for the 2025 season. Amidst Sainz joining Williams, his father reckoned that his son deserved to be in a top team. Despite the 30-year-old earning the recognition, he wouldn’t be racing at a top team in the upcoming season. As a result, Papa Sainz claimed that the world of Formula 1 was ‘complicated’.

I believe that Carlos deserves to drive in a top team, he did well enough to earn this recognition. Yet, next season it won’t be like that. There are many good drivers but the world of F1 is always complicated.

Regardless of Sainz Jr’s. disappointing switch to Williams, the Spaniard highlighted that his son couldn’t get down and give up as the future was still unknown. Hence, Sainz sr. asked his son to not give up on his career and to continue working hard with enthusiasm.

We can’t know what the future holds for us, in general you can’t get down anyway. You must not give up, but continue with enthusiasm.

Carlos Sainz suffered from a ‘difficult year’ in 2024

Carlos Sainz knew about his removal from Ferrari ahead of the commencement of the 2024 season. Moreover, the Italian constructor had a rollercoaster of performance throughout the campaign. As a result, Sainz Sr. suggested that Sainz Jr. suffered from a difficult year especially due to the latter knowing about his sacking. Regardless, the 30-year-old gave it his all and managed an excellent championship.

It was certainly a very difficult year, knowing from the beginning of the season that he would have to change teams. However, I believe that he gave everything and that he played an excellent championship. With difficulties, with appendicitis, with many other things, but also with victories.

Sainz is all set to move to Williams in the 2025 season as the team fastens preparations. The 30-year-old will team up with Alex Albon at the Grove-based constructor and aim to get up to speed from the get-go. However, the chances of the Spaniard contending for the race wins is highly unlikely especially due to William’s downfall in performance.
