Ferrari suffered from massive performance issues in the 2025 season with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. The team failed to emerge as a race-winning force and could only achieve a handful of podium finishes with Leclerc. Now, after failing to contend for the driver’s title in F1 with Ferrari, Leclerc has reportedly set his sights on winning at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Ferrari in the near future.
Ferrari has had opposite times in the 2025 season in different motorsport categories. Though their F1 campaign has been disastrous, they won their third consecutive title in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The WEC is definitely a highly sought-after racing category, and it is a completely different experience from Formula 1. However, Charles Leclerc‘s excellence in the pinnacle of motorsport means that he wouldn’t find many difficulties in getting accustomed to the 24 Hour racing format.
Moreover, Charles Leclerc has been Ferrari’s golden boy for a very long time now, and his wishes to potentially partake in the WEC in the coming years wouldn’t go unnoticed by the Italian squad. However, Leclerc is better off racing in F1 for now as he is yet to achieve his coveted maiden title win. Still, keeping in mind Ferrari’s success in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Monegasque pondered over the what-ifs.
Speaking at the FIA Met Gala, Charles Leclerc noted that he needed to find a way to combine Formula 1 and Le Mans for Ferrari. Despite his F1 difficulties, he is sure that he wants to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans atleast once and try to win it as well. The eight-time-race winner accepted that racing in the WEC for Ferrari would require intense preparation, but he is up for the challenge and would love to participate in it one day.
Now I need to find a way to try and combine Formula 1 and Le Mans, because if I do something, I want to do it to try and win. For that, it needs preparation, because the level is super high. But for sure, I would love to.

Charles Leclerc ‘proud’ of being a part of Ferrari’s success in motorsport
Certainly, Ferrari is one of the most revered motorsport brands in the entire world. Though their current performances in F1 are out of the ordinary, the passion for the team remains the same. Charles Leclerc is definitely one of the major contributors to the team’s success in recent years. As such, the 28-year-old is delighted to be a part of the Italian squad for such a long time and in the years to come.

Charles Leclerc noted that to be at the FIA Gala and supporting the big family of Ferrari amid their success was truly incredible. He continued that the legacy that the Italian constructor had in the world would always be there despite their temporary failures. Leclerc accepted that it was now upto the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team to live up to the expectations and start performing better than their current results.
To be [at the gala], supporting our big family — obviously, with them having won in WEC and having so much success in a year like this — is incredible. The legacy that Ferrari has left in motorsport will forever be there, and I’m super proud to be part of it somehow. Now it’s up to us to live up to expectations, just like my teammates in endurance do.
Charles Leclerc noted.
The 2025 season marks the end of the ground-effect era that definitely was one of the more underwhelming era of regulations for Ferrari. Though Charles Leclerc achieved a handful of wins in the regulations, he was still unable to emerge as a championship contending force. For now, the Monegasque will enjoy the break before returning to push fully for success with the Italian constructor.
