Oscar Piastri suffered from yet another woeful outing at the Brazil GP as the point disparity to his teammate Lando Norris increased even further. This time, Piastri collided with Kimi Antonelli and caught Charles Leclerc in the crossfire. This caused some mixed opinions towards who was at fault, with many people blaming the Aussie for a desperate move on the track. However, Leclerc backed the 24-year-old and refused to put him at full blame.
Kimi Antonelli reportedly shut the door on Oscar Piastri, which caused the latter to have to brake quite a lot. Piastri still firmly believed that he wasn’t in the wrong and that the other drivers simply used the brakes too late. Charles Leclerc was just an innocent bystander who was caught in the collision and suffered from a DNF in a race where he could have achieved a great finish. Despite ending his race on a disappointing note, he doesn’t believe that the Aussie is to be fully blamed for the crash.
Charles Leclerc cannot catch a break this year as his streak of woeful results continues. Leclerc qualified in P3 and could’ve fought for a podium finish if it weren’t for his disappointing DNF. Still, he managed his frustration from the racing incident and claimed that Kimi Antonelli was aware of the lack of space behind him, as even Oscar Piastri made an optimistic move on track. The Monegasque reiterated that Antonelli was aware of Piastri being so close to him and probably should not have made the move, in hindsight.
However, Kimi Antonelli took the corner like Oscar Piastri was not even present right behind him, which caused the entire incident, according to Charles Leclerc. The 27-year-old continued that the blame did not need to be fully on Piastri, as he was simply running his own race.
He insisted that the move, although optimistic, could have been avoided, and he would have been able to still be in the race and fight for a decent finish at the Brazil GP. Ferrari’s outing in Brazil was unfortunate, as even Lewis Hamilton suffered from a DNF after he endured massive damage to his car from his collision with Franco Colapinto.
Oscar was optimistic, but Kimi knew that, Kimi knew that Oscar was on the inside, I think. He kind of did the corner like Oscar was never there. The blame is not all on Oscar. Yes, it was optimistic, but this could have been avoided.

Charles Leclerc claims he is “frustrated” after a woeful Brazilian DNF
The 2025 season has remained nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for Charles Leclerc. Despite giving it his all on the track, he has still failed to amass any race wins so far. He had a great shot of fighting for a podium finish, but even that was ruined following his ill-fated outing on the track. As such, he was understandably frustrated after the outing and spoke candidly about the same.

Charles Leclerc highlighted that frustrated was the right word to describe his feelings after the Brazil GP. But, at the end of the day, he wasn’t angry or frustrated with either Kimi Antonelli or Oscar Piastri.
Leclerc believed that the incident was a racing incident and did not warrant any harsh feelings apart from the on-track annoyance. Further, the 27-year-old reiterated that he didn’t want to fully blame Piastri for the crash, and people should treat it the same way.
I’m frustrated, At the end of the day, I’m not angry with Oscar or Kimi. These things happen. But I wouldn’t go as far as saying that it’s all Oscar’s fault. I don’t think it is.
Charles Leclerc noted
Certainly, Charles Leclerc will hope for much better outings in the coming races. With just three races left this year, Leclerc will hope to put the entire year behind him and move on from it. For now, the Monegasque will aim to finish the season on the best possible note, as his championship contention chances are finished already.
