Charles Leclerc had a dramatic weekend at the Italian Grand Prix. He started in P4 behind George Russell but quickly moved up to P2 by the end of the first lap, showing great pace. However, Ferrari’s poor strategy choices later in the race allowed Lando Norris to take the lead.

Before the Italian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc had the chance to meet with Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari’s last world champion. Raikkonen, who was there to support his former team at their home race, was spotted in the Ferrari garage chatting with Leclerc. The two drivers were photographed together, possibly sharing some advice and good wishes for the upcoming race weekend.

Leclerc appeared to be inspired by Raikkonen’s advice before the race. Although he lost his second position earlier due to poor strategy decisions, with 10 laps remaining, Leclerc made a decisive move to take the lead. He asserted on the team radio that he would handle the rest of the race himself. From that point on, he maintained his lead with determination and skill, ultimately securing victory at the Italian Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc gives bold declaration to Ferrari right before taking victory in Monza

Oscar Piastri was leading the race until lap 39, but a strategic call from his team forced him to pit, which gave Charles Leclerc a slight advantage. Considering this, Leclerc felt confident that he could control the race from that point on. He firmly instructed his team over the radio that if he chose not to follow their directions, they should stop repeating their requests. This statement made it clear that the 26-year-old wanted to rely on his own judgment. He didn’t wanted to be dependent on the team’s orders.
