The 26-year-old led the race from start to finish after a mega performance on Saturday which saw him claim the pole position in Monte Carlo. The Monegasque driver talked about how the thoughts of his father made him push through the last 15 laps of the race after a competitive afternoon in Monte Carlo.
No words can explain it. It's such a difficult race. I think the fact that I started on pole twice and couldn't make it. And, to win it is special. I dreamt of this race when a kid. I was thinking to my dad in the last 15 laps, he gave everything to get me here.Charles Leclerc said post his race win at Monaco.

Leclerc was at a loss for words after his win and looked back on how he had started from pole on two previous occasions but could not convert his advantage into a win. But this time around he had a bit of luck by his side and was reminded of his dad’s efforts in shaping his career during the closing stages of the race. It gave him just that extra bit of edge to bring the car home to a first-race win in Monaco.
