Charles Leclerc is expected to deliver great results over his home race in Monaco. The 26-year-old scored a pole position during the recent quali as the fans cheered on the local hero. Leclerc denied Max Verstappen of scoring his eighth pole position consecutively in the 2024 season. In addition, the Monegasque scored Ferrari’s 250th pole position at the pinnacle of motorsport.

Charles Leclerc was extremely delighted after scoring the pole position at the Monaco GP, especially the 250th one. Ferrari has been showcasing great development against Red Bull who struggled with the challenger over the weekend. The 26-year-old mentioned that it was a ‘nice feeling’ to secure the front-row start. Additionally, Leclerc claimed that the feeling after scoring the pole was ‘always special’ in Monaco.

It was nice. The feeling after a qualifying lap is always special around here.

However, the 26-year-old accepted that scoring the pole position wasn’t the only thing that was needed from his team. Leclerc highlighted that the team needed to ‘put everything together’ to deliver a race win in Monaco. Hence, the Monegasque has great hopes of potentially scoring a win against Red Bull’s highly dominant campaign in the 2024 season.

I know more often then not that qualifying is not important because we need to put everything together. We are a great team, and we are a stronger team so we will.

Charles Leclerc hopes for Carlos Sainz to ‘follow through’ for a one-two finish

Carlos Sainz followed Leclerc’s performance after scoring a second-row start in P3. The Spaniard had a great start to the season with a win in Australia. Hence, the two drivers are expected to bring home a great one-two finish at tomorrow’s event. Ferrari might come extremely close to Red Bull in the constructors’ championship and finally put forth some stiff competition.

Charles Leclerc mentioned that he required a great launch from the start to hold onto his P1. Additionally, the 26-year-old ‘hopes’ for Sainz to follow his great performance. The Monegasque is hopeful of a one-two finish as this would be the ‘ideal scenario’ for the Italian constructor around Monaco.

I need a great launch, and hopefully, Carlos can follow me through and we can be 1-2 which will be an ideal scenario.
Charles Leclerc highlighted.

Red Bull’s struggles have continued through the Monacan weekend as well. Hence, Ferrari has the best chance to triumph in the 78-lap race and even potentially capitalize on the major point gap. Charles Leclerc might have an easy cruise around the Monte Carlo circuit as it does not offer many chances of overtaking.
